Venus Versa™ uses SmartPulse™ technology to provide gentle and effective acne reduction. This dual light treatment destroys acne-causing bacteria and reduces existing acne-related inflammation.
How it works?
The blue light targets the acne-causing bacteria in the oil glands. These bacteria contain a certain type of pigment that, when activated by the blue light, destroy the bacteria from the inside out. By eliminating this underlying cause of acne, the skin is better able to recover and blemishes will begin to disappear. At the same time, the red light emitted from the applicator works to reduce the inflammation of existing acne and promote faster healing. Because red light can penetrate farther into the layers of skin, it’s better able to treat deeper pores and can help with reducing the production of acne-causing sebum. Research has shown that when blue and red light are administered together, the results are much better than with just blue light alone.
How long does the treatment take?
Each session takes a quick 15-20 minutes on average, making it easy to fit into a lunchbreak, before or after work, or over a busy weekend. There’s no downtime, which means patients can go back to their regular routine immediately following each treatment.
How many sessions are needed?
Most patients will see the best results after eight to 10 treatments, scheduled twice a week for a month. How long results are maintained varies from patient to patient and is dependent on severity of the skin and post-procedure skin care. Follow-up sessions are recommended. Once the acne begins clearing up, the time between treatments may be increased.
